Huron homicide under investigation

HURON, S.D.–Beadle County State’s Attorney Michael Moore says one person is dead after a shooting in Huron on Thursday.
The suspect is in custody, and police say there is no longer a threat to the public after a large law enforcement presence responded to apartments at 10th and Minnesota.
A shelter in place was declared around 10 a.m. Thursday, but the lockdown was lifted about four-and-a-half hours later.
Specifics on the homicide have not been released.
The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and Huron police are investigating.
