WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Arrow girls basketball would upset number two Brandon Valley 43-35 Tuesday night at the Watertown Civic Arena.

The Arrows who received votes in this week’s broadcaster poll would take advantage of two of Brandon Valley’s top players Hilary Behrens and Tessa Bowar, out for the night. The purple and gold were led by Kendall Paulson for the second game in a row with 16 points on three of five shooting from beyond the arc. Miranda Falconer would add 11 and also knock down three threes in the contest. Jaida Young would contribute seven while Maddy Rohde dropped in six.

On the boys side of the matchup, Watertown would fall at Brandon Valley 58-53. Drew Norberg went off for 27 points on nine of 23 shooting from the field, knocked down three of seven from three-point land, and six of eight from the charity stripe. Reese Stark and Devon Lewis each added six and Kohen Kranz added five.

The Lynx 6’8” sophomore center Josh Olthoff would drop 18 points and cause trouble for a shorter Arrow team. Coach Zach Wevik:

Watertown Arrow boys fall to 1-4 and come home to face Sioux Falls O’Gorman Friday night on 950 KWAT. The girls improve to 5-0 and travel to the Knights on Friday on New Country KS93.
