WATERTOWN, S.D.–A weekend of sweltering heat produced a pair of record setting temperatures in Watertown.

The city hit a high of 95 on Friday, breaking the old record of 92 set in 1933.

Saturday’s high in Watertown was 99–which broke the old record on that date of 94 set in 1933 and tied in 2018.

It was hot again Sunday when the temperature climbed to 94. But that was short of the record high of 97 set in 1987.

Temps in the 90’s are expected to continue most of this week.
