WATERTOWN, S.D.–Now that plans are moving forward on construction of a new ice arena in Watertown, the question comes up, “what happens to the existing arena when the new one opens?”
Mayor Ried Holien says he thinks they’ve got that figured out…
Holien says it still has some life left in it…just not as an ice arena…
Groundbreaking on the new two-sheet ice arena is expected next spring.
The Watertown City Council has approved up to $20 million in sales tax revenue bonds to fund construction.
