HOCKEY: Laker boys split, girls have winning weekend

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Laker girls hockey would have a winning weekend with wins over Huron and Sioux Center.

Watertown would down Huron 6-4 on Saturday.  Jaclyn Lloyd led the way with three goals and an assist.  Janel Lloyd added one goal and two assists, Jillian Busch had one goal.  Emma Foisel stopped 23 of 27 shots on goal.

The Laker girls would wrap up the weekend with a 5-1 W over Sioux Center on Sunday.  The Lloyd girls again lead the charge with Jaclyn putting two through the net and assisting with two and Janel added two goals and one assist.  Meg Sunde had one goal.  Foisel again stopped 23 of 24 shots on goal.

The Laker girls are off till January 1st and 2nd when they travel to Sioux Falls and Sioux Center.

The Laker boys would split their weekend games on the road.

Aberdeen would down Watertown Friday 8-3.  Austin Green had two goals while Blair Boomsma had one goal and an assist.  Thomas Foley added an assistant the night.  Owen McBride stopped 27 of 35 shots on goal.

The Laker boys would bounce back on Saturday with a 6-0 rout of Huron. Green led the charge again with two goals and one assist.  Boomsma, Kowynn Muhl, Mason Witt, and Jake Bramer each put one through the net.  McBride stopped all 16 shots on goal.

The Laker boys are off till December 30th when they host Brookings at 8 p.m. Game will be broadcast on 1480 KSDR>
