Heath and Johnson take home runner-up finishes at state golf meets

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown would wrap up the Class AA Girls Golf Meet with a ninth-place finish carding a team score of 716.  Sioux Falls O’Gorman would take the team title with a 622.

Individually for the Arrows, Riley Zebroski would card a two-day total of 159, good for a ninth-place finish.  Samantha Anderson ended the meet with a 178, Shelby Pearson 191, Maia VanLaecken 191, Jordyn Geerdes 194, Aspen Reynolds 201.  

At the Girls A, Sisseton’s Kelsey Heath finished in second place heading into the clubhouse with a 156.  Kierra Silk tied for fifth place with a 173, Sioux Valley’s Julia Steffensen ended with a 174, tied for eighth place. Beresford’s Maiya Muller took home the Class A individual title shooting a two-day total with 155.  The team title would go to Sioux Falls Christian with a 719.  Sisseton took second place carding a 749.

The Girls B team championship would go to Estelline/Hendricks with a two-day total of 542. Deubrook third with a 554, Castlewood sixth 566 and Hamlin 14th with a 605.  The Redhawks Kaylee Johnson would end the Class B meet tied for second with a 161.  Bailey Landmark from Deubrook took home sixth with a 173, Taylor Koisti finished in a tie for ninth with a 180.  Jayce Pugh of Miller was the B individual champion with a 158. 

Chester would take home the Boys B Championship with a 500.  Deubrook placed third with a 506, DeSmet tied with Great Plains Lutheran, each with 514.  The Class B individual champion would go to Brody Boltjes of Platte-Geddes carding a 152.  Deuel’s Tanner Preheim and Great Plains Lutheran’s Sam Hansen each would head into the clubhouse tied for third with a 156.
