Health Department continues to work aspects on voter-passed medical marijuana law

PIERRE, S.D. (KORN) — The South Dakota Health Department is continuing to work on rules regarding medical marijuana. The voter-passed Initiated Measure 26 takes
effect July 1st .

Health Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon says her department is actively working on various aspects of the new law:

She says the Health Department will soon post information regarding how members of the public may provide input about those rules. The Health Department has said medical cards required to purchase medical cannabis probably won’t be available until late October.
