ABERDEEN, S.D. (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University head coach Lynne Dingman announced the signing of Kenzie Hamann and Christine Nefzger.
Kenzie Hamann will join the Wolves as a member of the cross country and track and field teams, competing in the distance events. She is a 5-year letter winner in track and 3-year letter winner in cross country, as well as a team captain at Duel High School. Hamann holds personal bests of 5:25.07 in the 1600m, 11:54.52 in the 3200m, and 18:49.78 in the 5k. She is a 10-time state placer in track and field. In addition, Hamann holds the Duel school records in the 1600m, 3200m, and pole vault. She is the daughter of Stephen and Melody Budahl and Cole Hamann.
Christine Nefzger is a pole-vaulter out of Estelline High School. She is a letter winner for the Redhawks under the direction of head coach Jim Rieger. Nefzger’s personal best of 11’0” was achieved in 2019 at the region meet. She is the 2019 South Dakota State Class B Champion in the pole vault, clearing 10’9”. She is the daughter of Dan and Robin Nefzger.
Hammann and Nefzger are two of seven student-athletes that will join the Wolves for the 2020-21 season.
