Grow Castlewood begins fundraising for new football field, splash park and wellness center

CASTLEWOOD, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Grow Castlewood Committee has begun their fundraising efforts to establish a new football/soccer field, wellness center and splash park within the City of Castlewood.

Grow Castlewood Committee Chair Lois Wiarda talks about how the committee came together:

A survey was conducted in November of 2018 within the Castlewood community and it was determined there are three needs within the community:

From there, the Castlewood Community Foundation was established to receive monetary donations on a tax free basis. The Grow Castlewood Committee will begin their fundraising efforts in conjunction with the Castlewood Days Celebration this weekend. Wiarda says that fundraising for the three projects will be on going, independently of each other:

There is no timeline on when the football field, splash park or wellness center will be built.
