November 14, 2024

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–Schwan’s Company broke ground on Wednesday on a new 700,000 square foot food production facility in northwest Sioux Falls.

Mayor Paul TenHaken and Governor Kristi Noem joined company leaders for a special ceremony.

The project was announced three years ago, but after plenty of work behind the scenes, it reached shovels in the ground at Foundation Park.

Construction will begin early next spring and will be completed in 2027.

Tenhaken and Gov. Noem emphasized the economic impact that this new facility will bring the city and the state, including bringing nearly 700 jobs.
