WATERTOWN, S.D.—South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem understands the frustration of the state’s farmers who’ve dealt with low commodity prices and unfinished trade deals.
During a recent stop in Watertown, Noem was asked if farmers are losing patience over President Trump’s hardball negotiations with China, and the absence of a ratified USMCA trade deal with Canada and Mexico, which would replace the NAFTA trade agreement….
Noem says getting passage of the USMCA trade agreement will help other deals fall into place….
Noem says she understands President Trump’s long-term strategy, and hopes farmers will remain patient….
Noem’s comments came last week when she spoke to shareholders at the annual Glacial Lakes Energy meeting in Watertown.
