PIERRE, S.D.–Governor Kristi Noem is asking South Dakotans to be alert Monday for additional state guidelines regarding the spreading COVID-19 virus.

She issued the request during a Facebook live event Saturday.

Noem said, “we’re going to have some directions for the state of South Dakota and I want you to be paying attention to that. It’s going to be incredibly important that you’re listening and that we are all on the same page for actions that we’re going to be taking in the coming week.”

The Governor offered a couple of hints, “especially as it relates to those that are elderly or have some compromised health conditions, and then beyond that, specific targeted areas. We all know different communities that are struggling.”

South Dakota has recorded a cumulative total of 240 cases of the COVID-19 virus. Nearly half of those cases are in Minnehaha County, which reported 23 new cases Sunday.
