PIERRE, S.D.–South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has received a tremendous amount of backlash for her decision to shoot and kill a dog some 20 years ago.

She writes about it in her new book called, “No Going Back,” which is being released next week.

Noem wrote that the one year-old wirehair pointer named Cricket had become aggressive and unruly, and she made the decision to put it down.

Here’s what she told Fox News….

Noem says state law allows for the killing of dangerous dogs such as Cricket.

Noem called it, “an unfortunate situation, but one that I hope people understand that they need to hear the truth and not what the media has been spinning.”
