Governor Noem delivers keynote speech at LATC luncheon (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Governor Kristi Noem was the keynote speaker at Monday’s 21st annual Governor’s Luncheon at Lake Area Technical College.

The governor talked about the need to grow South Dakota’s workforce, and one piece of legislation approved this year that will help meet that goal…

The governor says there have been growing pains in the state, most notably the need for more workforce housing.

She says Lake Area Tech came up frequently on that topic during the recently completed session….

Monday’s luncheon is a scholarship fundraiser for the LATC Foundation office.

Foundation Executive Director Tracy Buisker says next school year, the foundation expects to award about $460,000 in scholarships to LATC students.
