Gov. Noem delivers State of the State speech  (Audio)

PIERRE, S.D.–South Dakota’s legislative session got started Tuesday with an hourlong speech from Governor Kristi Noem.

She used the State of the State speech to highlight South Dakota’s accomplishments, and some of its ongoing challenges.

The governor touched on how South Dakota has stayed “open for business” throughout the pandemic, and how she has, and will continue to, reject any federal vaccine mandates….

The governor touched on her prayer in school bill….

One bill that will likely spark some emotional debate this session is the governor’s “Fairness In Women’s Sports” bill, which would ban transgender girls, who were born boys, from participating in high school sports activities….

Governor Noem took time to thank South Dakota’s law enforcement officers, particularly new ones who’ve moved in from out of state, for keeping South Dakota safe…

Governor Noem says we are blessed to be living in South Dakota, and that the state of our state is the strongest it has ever been.\
