WATERTOWN, S.D.–Glacial Lakes Energy (GLE) CEO Jim Seurer stopped by KWAT today to talk about proposed carbon sequestration pipelines that are, or will be, under consideration by the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission (PUC).
GLE owns and operates ethanol plants in Watertown, Mina, Aberdeen and Huron, producing 360 million gallons of fuel each year.
GLE signed a contract with Summit Carbon Solutions to reduce their carbon index score by being part of Summit’s pipeline that will capture and transport CO2 to North Dakota, where it would be buried deep underground.

The PUC is holding hearings on the proposed Navigator Heartland Greenway pipeline this week, and will hear arguments for and against the Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline in September.
