WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Langford survived Great Plains Lutheran 47-44 in the Girls Region 1B opening round Monday night.
Katie Jensen led the Lions with 17 points on five of 19 shooting from the field, and six from seven from the charity stripe. Jensen would grab seven boards, steal the ball three times and dish three assists. Jennaka Nelson would add 10 points and Olyvia Dwight and Kylie Schock would each contribute nine points.
With 14 points, Kimberly Goens led Great Plains Lutheran. Gowns would shoot one of four from the field, and four of five from three-point land, grab two boards, and dish three assists. Bryn Holmen added 11 points and Olivia Holmen added six.
Great Plains Lutheran ends their year with a record of 2-12. Langford improves to 2-19 and faces top seed Waverly-South Shore in the Region 1B semifinals at 7 p.m. tonight.
Other action in the Girls Region 1B features Warner facing Northwestern, Waubay/Summit facing Leola/Frederick and Aberdeen Christian taking on Britton-Hecla.
