GBB: Hamlin, Waverly-South Shore and Castlewood all heading to the state tournament

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — We saw two dominant wins last night in the girls SoDak 16 as heard on New Country KS93.

Game one in Class A saw Hamlin come away with a 62-22 win over Mobridge-Pollock. The Wadsworth sister led the scoring attack with Kami tallying 21 while Kylee added 17. Ally Abraham added nine, Ashtyn Abraham and McKenna Prouty each had four.

Mariah Goehring, Landyn Henderson, and Emma Keller each had five for the Tigers.

The other Class A winners were St. Thomas More, Winner, Aberdeen Roncalli, Sioux Falls Christian, Belle Fourche, McCook Central/Montrose, and Dakota Valley. Hamlin is the three seed and will face Belle Fourche to open the Class A Tournament next week at the Watertown Civic Arena. Mitch Reed will have coverage of all the Hamlin games on New Country KS93.

In the other B game from the Watertown Civic Arena, Castlewood downed De Smet 65-37.

Alayna Benike was the leading scorer for Castlewood with 27 points. Darah Dekam had 18, Maddie Horn and Lyndsey Arched added seven while Mackenzie Everson ended the night with six.

For the Bulldogs, Kennadi Buckolz finished with 15 points, Alyssa Asleson off the bench added eight.

De Smet finishes their year with a record of 12-12.

Waverly/South Shore punched their ticket to the Girls B with a 46-27 win over New Underwood at the Chamberlain Armory. No statistics were reported from the game.

Other B winners were White River, Corsica-Stickney, Hanson, Ethan, Herreid/Selby Area, and Viborg-Hurley

Castlewood the one seed, Waverly-South Shore the eight seed, will open the Girls B Tournament next week at the Huron Arena. Brent Nathaniell will have coverage of the Warriors and the Coyotes on 104.3 KKSD.
