CASTLEWOOD, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — A 33 point performance by New Country KS93 and Watertown Taco John’s Athlete of the Week nominee Alayna Benike would tip Castlewood over Waverly/South Shore in high school girls basketball Friday night. 

Benike would go five of 12 from the field and seven of 10 from three-point land and grab 12 boards.  Mackenzie Everson would contribute 22 points on the night.  

Three Coyotes would score in double figures led by Emily Kranz with 22 points, Lydia Schroeder would add 16 and Carly Heuer would end the night with 12 points. 

Waverly/South Shore falls to 12-3 and faces Hamlin at the Warner classic Saturday.  Number two Castlewood improves to 15-0 and faces Hitchcock-Tulare on Saturday.
