Gazelles outlast Arrows

YANKTON, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Yankton got the better of Watertown in girls basketball Thursday night 47-39.

The Arrows were led by the pair of Maggie Heesch and Abby Bramer each with ten.  Bramer would go four of eight from the field and two of five from three point land.  Heesch would go three of eleven from the field and four of six from the charity stripe.  Megan Fannin and Devyn Keller would each contribute eight points.

Yankton would be led by Madison Wuebben with 12.

Watertown would shoot 34% from the field compared to Yankton’s 45%.

Coach Tom Mattingly was ill and did not make the trip to Yankton.  In his place, Tyler Snaza would coach the varsity.  His thoughts on the game:

Watertown (1-14) comes home to face Aberdeen Saturday at 5 p.m.
