WATERTOWN, S.D.–As temperatures rise, so do gasoline prices in South Dakota.

AAA Auto Club reports the statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.43 today. That’s six cents a gallon higher than Monday, and a full 14 cents a gallon higher than it was a week ago.

Nationally, the average price is $3.60 a gallon. A week ago, it was $3.50, and a month ago it was $3.47.

In Watertown, most stations raised their prices 25-cents a gallon, from $3.24 to $3.49 on Monday or early Tuesday.

The rising prices come on the heels of the news that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) will cut production by over a million barrels per day beginning next month.
