FRIDAY UPDATE: COVID-19 cases in South Dakota increase to 1,411

PIERRE, S.D.—The South Dakota Department of Health reports 100 new cases of COVID-19 infection in the state today.

The cumulative statewide total is now at 1,141.

The vast majority of cases, 1,157 of them, have occurred in Minnehaha County, where 293 people are considered recovered.

The department’s COVID-19 web page, which can be found here https://doh.sd.gov/news/coronavirus.aspx#SD , added a new feature today. It indicates how many negative tests there have been in each county.

In Codington County, that number is 343. There have been 13 positive cases in the county. Eleven of those people have recovered.
