FRIDAY UPDATE: COVID-19 cases in South Dakota climb over 2,000

PIERRE, S.D.—South Dakota’s number of cases of COVID-19 went over the 2,000 mark Friday.

The Health Department reported 84 new cases, bringing the cumulative total to 2,040.

Nine out of every ten cases that have been reported in the state have come from the counties of Minnehaha and Lincoln.

The Health Department says 1,190 South Dakotans who’ve gotten the virus have recovered.

Ten people have died.

Codington County added one additional case, its 14th.
