Former Northern State University president lands new gig

MOORHEAD, Minn.–The former president of Northern State University in Aberdeen has a new job.
The Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System has named Timothy Downs the new president of Minnesota State University-Moorhead (MSUM).
Downs will take over the position July 1st.
He is currently serving as Interim Chief of Staff at Cal Poly Humboldt in northern California. From 2016 to 2021, Downs was president of Northern State University in Aberdeen where he led a $62 million capital campaign.
At MSUM, Downs will replace the retiring Anne Blackhurst.
