Former Arrow Fannin named to the All-NSIC Second Team

BURNSVILLE, Minn. (USFCougars.com) – Freshman guard Megan Fannin of the University of Sioux Falls Women’s Basketball Team has been named to the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Second Team, according to an announcement today (Wednesday, Feb. 24) by the league office.

In her first full season with USF, Fannin, who has averaged 12.9 points and 3.1 rebounds, has been a difference maker. She helped guide the Cougars to a 16-12 overall record and 11-9 league mark for third in the NSIC South and the No. 3 seed in the NSIC Sanford Health Postseason Tournament.

Fannin, a business administration major from Watertown, S.D., becomes the 15th USF player named All-NSIC since USF joined the league in 2012-13.

One of the outstanding perimeters shooters in the league, Fannin has 18 career double-digit scoring games with 17 this year (26, 15,18, 22, 13, 16, 20, 20, 22, 19, 19, 12, 16, 19, 11, 14, 17). In 2021-22, Fannin has five games of 20 points or more (six in her career) and 389 career points (362 this year). She has made a team-high 50 three-pointers and is shooting 34.5 percent from distance.

During the 2021-22 season, she earned her first-ever NSIC Player of the Week honor on Dec. 13, 2021. She was recognized by the lead after two standout performances in wins over Upper Iowa and Winona State. In a 73-50 win over Upper Iowa, she had 20 points and six rebounds, as she made 4-of-10 from three-point range in 29 minutes. Against Winona State, Fannin led the Cougars to a 74-54 win by scoring 22 points with three rebounds, assist and a steal.
