MITCHELL, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — No timeouts left, 2.2 seconds to play, down by one, Arrows need to go the length of the floor in overtime and that’s when magic happened for Evan Falconer.
Falconer would finish the night with 19 points, shooting 8-14 from the field and 3 of 7, including the 3/4 court buzzer beater, from three point range. Dawson Schmidt would lead the Arrow scoring attack with 21 points and five boards. Kale Stevenson would contribute 10 points.
On the girls side of the match-up, the Kernels would come away victorious 62-54. Watertown would lead the game at half 25-24 but would be outscored in the second half 38-29.
Megan Fannin would lead all Arrow scorers with 19, Abby Bramer and Maggie Heesch would each add 14 points.
The Watertown boys (4-5) will be back in action January 28th when they host Moorhead, Minnesota at 7 p.m. Arrow girls (0-10) are off till January 31st when they host Harrisburg for the second time this season.
