PIERRE, S.D.–A bill that will help expand a rural veterinary program at SDSU got a “do pass” recommendation from the legislatures Joint Appropriations Committee Monday.

SDSU President Barry Dunn (pictured) says it will help bring back vets to rural areas of the state….

Dunn says the program is a cooperative effort with the University of Minnesota…..

Dunn says it is an investment in the states livestock industry…..

The bill appropriates $550,000 to start the program. It passed on a vote of 16-1 and now moves to the House floor.
