ESTELLINE, S.D.–An Estelline man was injured in a motorcycle crash over the weekend.

It happened early Saturday morning on 200th Street near 466th Avenue, which is between Estelline and Bruce.

Forty eight year-old Jeremy Hagseth told deputies he had swerved to miss a deer in his lane of travel, and then went into the ditch and was thrown over the top of the handlebars of the cycle.

Hagseth was taken to the Brookings Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash. They say alcohol use appears to have been a contributing factor.

The motorcycle sustained an estimated $2,000 damage.
