Estelline/Hendricks will not play their first two football games of the season

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Estelline/Hendricks will not play their first two football games of the 2020 season.

The Argus Leader reports the decision was made following consultation with the South Dakota Department of Health.  KELO TV reports that two positive coronavirus cases on the team.  Both players had delayed symptoms.

Estelline Activities Director Jeremy Bachman confirmed the cancellations in an email Tuesday morning with Watertown Radio Sports.

The Redhawks were scheduled to host Dell Rapids St. Mary this Friday and travel to Alcester-Hudson on August 28th.

Alcester-Hudson has moved their September 4 game against Centerville to August 28 and rescheduled their game with Estelline/Hendricks to September 4th.   Dell Rapid St. Mary will now play at Florence/Henry in Henry on Friday night.
