DHBB: Arrows split with Rapid City Central

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Dawson Schmidt hit a three-pointer with 4.5 seconds left to lift Watertown past Rapid City Central 64-62 in high school boys basketball Friday night.
Schmidt would end the night with 14 points on five of 13 shooting from the field, two of eight from three-point land, grab four boards and steal the ball seven times. Drew Norberg would lead the Arrow scoring with 24 points. Norberg would go nine of 17 from the field and go five of 10 from beyond the three-point arc. Kale Stevenson would contribute nine points on the night.
The Cobblers Michah Swall would lead all scoring with 25 points. Kohl Meisman would add 17.
On the girl’s side of the doubleheader, Rapid City Central would down Watertown 41-32. Maddy Rohde led the Arrow scoring attack with 15 points on five of 13 shooting from the field, three of nine from the three-point arc, and two of three from the charity stripe. Maggie Heesch added five points and grabbed 13 boards. Jaida Young contributed six points.
Rapid City Central’s Jordon Heckert 24 points would lead the Cobblers.
The Watertown boys improve to 4-9 while the girls fall to 3-11. Both teams face Rapid City Stevens Saturday afternoon at the Civic Arena. Girls game at 1 p.m., followed by the boys at 2:30 p.m. Todd Enderson will have coverage on 950 KWAT and GoWatertown.net/Arrows.
