WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — It was a good night for the Arrows as both the Watertown boys and girls would defeat Brookings in high school basketball Friday night.
The boys would down the Bobcats 54-40. Three Arrows would score in double figures led by Drew Norberg with 14 points on six of 13 shooting from the field, and two of four from the charity stripe. Norberg would also steal the ball four times. Dawson Schmidt would tally 12 points and Reese Stark would come off the bench to also add 12 points.
Nick Schefers led the Bobcats with 14 points. Henry Hammrich would add 10.
On the girl’s side of the match-up, Watertown would overpower Brookings 51-29.
Jaida Young was on fire, ending the night with 21 points on nine of 12 shooting from the field, and three of four from downtown. Olivia Corey would add 13 points including three of four from beyond the arc. Defensively, Maggie Heesch would grab 15 boards.
Ainsley Shelsta’s 9 points would lead the Bobcats.
The Watertown girls improve to 5-13 and remain home to face Brandon Valley on Monday, February 22nd. Brent Nathaniel will have coverage of that game on 950 KWAT and GoWatertown.net/Arrows.
