DHBB:  Arrow girls earn fourth victory of the year, boys fall to Brandon Valley

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown would earn their fourth victory of the year as they would down Yankton 44-31 in high school girls basketball Tuesday night.

All five starters would score for Watertown. Maddie Rohde would lead all scorers with 14 points on four of eight shooting from the field, a perfect five of five from the charity stripe, and steal the ball three times. Maggie Heesch and Abby Bramber would each contribute nine, and Olivia Corey and Jaida Young would add six each.

The Gazelles were led Jordynn Salvatori with seven points

On the boys’ side of the doubleheader, Watertown would fall to Brandon Valley 55-41.

Dawson Schmidt would be the only Arrow to get into double figures with 12 points on the night. The senior would go five of 14 from the field, two of seven from three-point land, and steal the ball five times. Drew Norberg and Kale Stevenson would each add eight points.

Dawson Johnson led the scoring for the Lynx with 13 points.

The Watertown boys fall to 5-10 and travel to Yankton on Friday. The Watertown girls improve to 4-12 and travel to Aberdeen on Saturday. Both games will be broadcast on 950 KWAT and GoWatertown.net/Arrows.
