MUSKEGON, Mich.–Denver Air Connection, the regional airline that serves Watertown and Pierre, may soon add another city and airport to the list of those it serves.
The Muskegon County, Michigan Board of Commissioners recently voted in support of Denver Air’s proposal to replace Southern Airways Express as the Essential Air Service provider at the Muskegon County Airport.
The final decision rests with the U.S. Department of Transportation, with an announcement possible by mid May.
Denver Air would provide a dozen flights a week from Muskegon to Chicago O’Hare.
Denver Air is the Essential Air Service provider for 11 airports across South Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, Minnesota and Michigan.
