Dentlinger honored by Summit League

SIOUX FALLS (GoJacks.com) — South Dakota State’s Matt Dentlinger was announced Monday as the Summit League’s Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week, capping a weekend that included two double-doubles in a pair of Jackrabbit comeback wins.
Dentlinger scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Friday against Denver, then followed with an 18-point, 10-rebound performance against Purdue Fort Wayne while hitting all eight of his field goal attempts (and both shots at the charity stripe). Sunday’s game against the Mastodons also included a career-high five blocks for Dentlinger. The Arcadia, Iowa native was a catalyst in both victories, helping South Dakota State take sole possession of first place in the league standings while pushing its home winning streak to 23 games.
Ade Murkey (Denver) shared the weekly honors with Dentlinger, who joined Douglas Wilson as Jackrabbits to be recognized by the league this season.
South Dakota State travels to North Dakota Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tip.
