Demolition of Watertown Senior Activities Center “imminent”  (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–The Watertown City Council this week approved a lease agreement with developer Jesse Craig on shared space in a new apartment building that will be going up on Kemp Avenue.

Last fall, the old Palace Apartment Building was torn down, and will be replaced by a new apartment building called The Ruins.

In that new building, which will be adjacent to the new Foundation Plaza park that’s being developed, will be roughly 1,200 feet of shared space on the ground level…

The Watertown Senior Center Activities Center, at 301 East Kemp Avenue, will be demolished to make way for Foundation Plaza and The Ruins..

Craig Development has built a new senior center just west of the Codington County Courthouse.

It also includes apartments for seniors. It’s a project called Generations on First.
