MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) released its 2020 football schedule. The Trojans are set to play 10 total games this coming fall, with five games at Trojan Field and five games on the road.
DSU is scheduled to play a preseason scrimmage at Dordt (Iowa) on Aug. 17 before playing their first regular-season contest in Mitchell, S.D.
Twelfth-year head coach Josh Anderson and his squad will kick off the 2020 season in the annual Chamber of Commerce rivalry game at Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) on Aug. 27 with a 7:05 p.m. kick-off time. The Trojans had won the last four meetings with the Tigers, including a 33-30 double overtime thriller at Trojan Field last season.
Dakota State plays its first home game of the season on Sept. 3 at Trojan Field, hosting Briar Cliff (Iowa) in the fifth annual Ag Bowl game. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
DSU takes a week off before starting their two-game road stretch, starting on Sept. 19 in the first-ever meeting with NCAA Division III Wisconsin-La Crosse.
The Trojans open their seven-game North Star Athletic Association conference schedule on the road at Mayville State (N.D.) on Sept. 26. Both teams will meet for the second North Star conference meeting at Trojan Field on Halloween (Oct. 31).
Dakota State returns home for their annual Trojan Days homecoming football game on Oct. 3 versus Waldorf (Iowa) at 4 p.m. The Trojans travel to league’s defending champion Dickinson State (N.D.) the following week on Oct. 10.
DSU begins their three-game home stand on Oct. 17 versus Presentation (S.D.). The Trojans also host Valley City State (N.D.) on Oct. 24 and wrap up their home schedule versus MSU on Oct. 31.
Dakota State concludes their 2020 regular-season schedule at Waldorf in Forest City, Iowa.
The 16-team NAIA Football national playoffs officially begins on Nov. 21.
