Dakota State announces 2022 football schedule

MADISON, S.D. (DSUAthletics.com) – The 2022 Dakota State (S.D.) Trojan football schedule highlights five home contests at Trojan Field, including the season opener against rival Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) in the annual Chamber of Commerce Trophy. The 2022 football schedule was announced Monday, featuring four non-conference contests followed by six-game North Star Athletic Association football slate.
DSU is slated to have a scrimmage at Mount Marty (S.D.) on Aug. 17 in Yankton, S.D.
The Trojans kick off the season at home on Aug. 25 in the 7th annual Ag Bowl contest versus DWU at 7 p.m. Stay tuned to the DSU Athletics website later this summer on dsuathletics.com for more information about Ag Bowl tickets and activities.
DSU travels to NCAA Division III Wisconsin-La Crosse for the first road contest on Sept. 3 before taking a bye week on Sept. 10. The Trojans visit NSAA’s foe Waldorf (Iowa) in a non-conference contest on Sept. 17.
Dakota State’s homecoming football game is scheduled for Sept. 24 versus Iowa Wesleyan in a non-conference game. The game is also designated as Senior Day. DSU stays home against the league’s conference champion Dickinson State (N.D.) on Oct. 1 to kick off North Star conference season.
The Trojans play at Valley City State (N.D.) on Oct. 8, followed by a home contest versus Presentation (S.D.) on Oct. 15. DSU is scheduled to play its final two road contests at Mayville State (N.D.) on Oct. 22 and at Iowa Wesleyan on Oct. 29.
After taking their second bye week of the season, Dakota State closes out the 2022 season at Trojan Field versus Waldorf on Nov. 12.
Dakota State finished tied for third in the North Star conference standings with Waldorf, each with 5-3 record. The Trojans recorded its first winning season last season with 6-4 overall record, the first since the 2017 season.
DSU also have six games scheduled on their 2022 developmental schedule. They will play four games at Trojan Field, including the season opener on Aug. 27 versus Minnesota State-Fergus Falls. The Trojans also host Mount Marty on Sept. 4, Morningside (Iowa) on Sept. 18, and Mayville State (N.D.) on Oct. 9.
Dakota State is scheduled to play two developmental games on the road at Mount Marty on Sept. 25 and Dordt (Iowa) on Oct. 3.
