Dakota Hills takes B State Cross Country title
HURON, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The 2019 South Dakota State Cross Country Meet was held at the Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron on Saturday.
The Watertown boys would place 14th with a total time of 1:32:31.28. Sioux Falls Lincoln would take the AA team title with a total time of 1:22:05.45. Individually for the Arrows, Abate Schulte would pace the way with a time of 18:23.83, Andre Baumgart came away with a time of 18:26.83, Garrett Antoine a 18:39.97, Gavin Martin 18:46.29, Alex Cady 18:51.12, Logan Jenc 18:53.66. Sioux Falls Lincoln’s Andrew Lauer would take the individual title with a time of 15:42.60. Watertown will graduate Gavan Lindner and Mason Maag from the squad.
The Watertown girls would also place 14th with a total time of 1:51:03.50. Sioux Falls Lincoln would also take the team title with a total time of 1:34:48.58. Individually for the Arrows, Emma List would pace the way with a time of 20:41.19. Isabelle Julian came away with a time of 21:28.10, Ali Tesch 22:25.72, Isabella Horning 23:08.13, Calli Perkins 23:20.36, Maelee Schulte 23:46.27 and Kristen Schulte 23:57.57. Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Alea Hardie would take the AA title with a time of 18:12.18. Watertown will graduate Sadie Danielsen and Calli Perkins from the squad.
In the Boys A, Sioux Falls Christian would take the team title with a total time of 1:08:59.47. Milbank would place seventh with a total time of 1:12:04.02, Webster Area 11th with a total time of 1:15:18.74 and Clark/Willow Lake 15th with a total time of 1:16:36.90. Individually Milbank’s Nick Batchelor would take home third with a time of 16:30.14
In the Girls A, Custer would take the team title with a total time of 1:19:03.59. Deuel would place 11th with a total time of 1:28:37.32 and Milbank would take 13th with a team time of 1:27:38.53. Lennox Ali Bainbridge would take the A individual title with a time of 18:54.63.
In the Boys B, Burke would win the team title with a total time of 54:54.63. Northwestern would place eighth with a time of 57:03.30, Warner 11th with a total time of 56:22.25 and Deubrook Area 12th with total time of 58:23.17. The Boys B Individual Title would go to Cody Larson of Warner with a time of 16:32.77. Lake Preston’s Rhett McMaster would place fourth with a 17:32.75, Riley Benning of Estelline/Hendricks took sixth with a time of 17:40.77 and Baylor Beck would place eights with a time of 17:44.88.
In the Girls B, Dakota Hills would take the team title with a total time of 1:02:51.35. Great Plains Lutheran would take eighth with a time of 1:05:18.89, Estelline/Hendricks 11th with a time of 1:06:53.71 and De Smet 17th with a total time of 1:09:05.26. Gayville-Volin’s Madison Fairley would take the individual title with a time of 19:14.17. Deubrook Area’s Ellie Olsen would place fifth with a total time of 20:13.41, Dakota Hill’s Madison Zirbel and Victora Zirbel would take sixth and seventh with a time of 20:16.86 and 20:25.07, respectively and Halle Bauer of Great Plains Lutheran would place ninth with a time of 20:43.28.
