WATERTOWN, S.D.–Average daily inmate numbers at the Codington County Detention Center have been tabulated for 2023.

The sheriff says there were 2,455 bookings into the jail last year–or an average of about seven bookings per day.
Ninety two-percent of inmates booked into the jail were from Codington County. The other eight percent were from regional counties that don’t have their own jail such as Hamlin, Deuel and Clark.
