Curbside pickup of Christmas trees in Watertown begins on Monday

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Christmas tree collection will begin on Monday, December 30, 2019 and end Thursday, January 9, 2020.

The Watertown Solid Waste Department will operate a Curbside Christmas Tree Pick-up route to assist Watertown Residents with the disposal of Christmas trees.

Trees must be real trees (not artificial). Trees must be free of all tinsel, lights, bases, and decorations. Plastic bags used to contain pine needles around the tree must be removed and placed in your garbage container before placing tree on boulevard. Only bare trees will be picked up.

Trees will be collected on your regular scheduled collection day. After Thursday, January 9th 2020, Christmas trees will have to be brought out to the landfill by the resident and the appropriate tipping fee paid.
