Crippling blizzard impacting parts of Dakotas, Montana

April 12, 2022

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A blizzard that forecasters say has the potential to be “crippling” is closing schools, colleges and some government offices in North Dakota today.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for most of western and central North Dakota where one to two feet of snow is forecast through Thursday.

Locally higher amounts up to 30 inches are possible.

Weather service forecasters say it will be tough to travel and could result in downed trees and power lines.

The blizzard warning extended into eastern Montana and the northwestern corner of South Dakota.
