Coyotes move up to No. 21 in USA Today Coaches Poll

VERMILLION, S.D. (GoYotes.com) —South Dakota women’s basketball moved up one spot to No. 21 in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll announced Tuesday.
No. 21 South Dakota (15-2, 4-0) is ranked in the USA Today Coaches Poll for the seventh-straight week, tying its highest position of 21st from weeks five and six.
In addition, the Coyotes remain ranked fourth in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Coaches Poll. It marks the 42nd consecutive week in the mid-major poll for the Yotes. USD has been in the top-five for the entirety of the 2019-20 season.
The Coyotes are coming off a 77-44 victory over Omaha to remain undefeated in league play. Senior guard Ciara Duffy scored 16 points and dished out 10 assists for her fourth double-double of the season. Junior center Hannah Sjerven added 12 points, senior forward Taylor Frederick tallied 11 and junior guard Chloe Lamb pitched in 10.
South Dakota begins this week with a trip to North Dakota State at 7 p.m. Thursday in Fargo, North Dakota. The Coyotes return home to host South Dakota State at 1 p.m. Saturday in a rivalry showdown inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. Tickets for the game are available on GoYotes.com.
