WATERTOWN, S.D.—Restrictions in Watertown due to the global coronavirus pandemic have reached into the city’s parks and recreation system.
Mayor Sarah Caron outlined the changes at a Wednesday afternoon press briefing….
Speaking at the same press briefing was Prairie Lakes Healthcare System CEO K.C. DeBoer, who announced a “no visitor policy” at their facilites, effective today…
LATI President Mike Cartney was at the press briefing showing off plastic face shields and protective face masks being made by staff at LATI with the help of a 3-D printer.
LATI has cancelled all public events through the end of April. Classes for the rest of the semester are being done online, but Cartney says their students are continuing the path toward graduation….
Cartney says the pandemic has not slowed construction work on the new Prairie Lakes Healthcare Center of Learning on the LATI campus.
That new building is scheduled to open this fall.
