PIERRE, S.D.–There’s good news and bad news on the COVID-19 front in South Dakota heading into the Thanksgiving holiday.

The bad news is that the state’s death toll has risen to 849. That’s an increase of 28 in the last day.

The good news is that active cases statewide are going down. They’re at 15,312 today. On Tuesday, there were 16, 657.

Hospitalizations dropped too. They’re now at 570.
