FLORENCE, S.D.–Another South Dakota nursing home will be closing its doors for good next month.

The Country View Assisted Living Center in Florence will be closing in mid-November, joining care centers in Clear Lake, Ipswich, Salem and Lennox that have closed, or will be closing, in the coming months.

Country View owner and RN Administrator Vicky Maag tells KWAT News the closure is due to a couple of reasons: Medicaid reimbursement rates that don’t match the cost of providing care, and staffing shortages…

Maag says she won’t close until all of her residents have found a new place to live…

Country View Assisted Living opened in the spring of 2000. Maag says the building has already been sold…

Country View is licensed for 16 beds. As of last week, they had eight residents living there.
