Corson County K-9 officer dies following cancer diagnosis

McIntosh, S.D.=–The Corson County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of their team members.
Sheriff Alan Dale says K-9 officer Taz passed away Sunday at the age of 12. He had served the citizens of Corson County for almost 11 years.
Taz was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, at the end of September, and the cancer spread very rapidly in the last couple of weeks.
Dale says the department knew this day was coming, so a plan was already in place to get a new K-9.
They’ll be going to pick up the a new K-9 later this month, and will be attending a six week dog training camp starting in March.
