ELKTON, S.D.–No school in Elkton today because of a leak in the school’s cooling system.

Superintendent Brian Jandahl says Elkton Schools will be closed because of large leak in their geo-thermal system.

Jandahl says he received a call this morning from one of the weight training coaches of a leak outside the weight room…

The chemical that leaked is glycol, which is often used in heating and cooling systems.

Jandahl says he’s not yet certain if they’ll be able to hold classes tomorrow…

He says high school practices will be held today. Volleyball can use a gym that’s not affected by the leak and football was practicing this morning.
