Cold snap should loosen its grip on the region this week  (Audio)

ABERDEEN, S.D.—The weather this weekend had no resemblance to spring.

Cold temperatures and wet snowflakes dotted the landscape of northeast South Dakota, where overnight lows dropped below freezing.

National Weather Service forecaster Mike Connolly says its been cold—even by our standards….

Connolly says this week will start out cool. Watertown had a low Monday morning of 25 degrees. But our patience will be rewarded. By this weekend, we’ll warm back up….

Normal highs for mid May are in the upper 60s, with lows in the mid 40s.
