WATERTOWN, S.D.—Jamie Torstenson is the choice to become Codington County’s new emergency management director.

 

His selection was unanimously approved by the Codington County Board of Commissioners this (Tuesday) morning.

 

Torstenson is a Watertown native who has been the Director of Safety and Training for Codington County Search and Rescue, and organization he joined in 2006.

 

Torstenson was among six people who applied for the job. All six were interviewed.

 

Torstenson will begin his new job January first. He’ll replace the retiring Jim Sutton, who is retiring at the end of January.
