WATERTOWN, S.D.—Codington County Search and Rescue along with sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a location southwest of Watertown Friday morning on a report of a car submerged in a slough.

The call to 445th Avenue and 175th Street came in just a few minutes after 11 a.m.

First responders arrived to find a Toyota Prius partially submerged in water.

The driver of the car, 29 year-old Brittnee Buchmann of rural Hazel, had driven the vechile on a road that was under water, and drove out on the ice and broke through.

The accident occurred earlier in the week, but was not reported until Friday.

There were no injuries.
